EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.
EMDR is a structured, well-researched therapy for trauma and other distressing memories. Rather than talking through a painful experience in detail, you briefly hold it in mind while following side-to-side eye movements or another form of gentle left-right stimulation. Over a series of sessions, the memory tends to lose its emotional charge, so it can be recalled without feeling overwhelming. EMDR is best known for treating PTSD, and it is also used for anxiety, grief, and the lingering effects of difficult life events.
Trauma-Informed CBT
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with a trauma-informed lens.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) looks at the connections between thoughts, feelings, and actions, and teaches practical skills for changing patterns that keep you stuck. A trauma-informed approach means the pace and structure of therapy are built around safety, choice, and trust. We pay attention to how past experiences still affect your body and mind today, and nothing moves faster than you are ready for. CBT is useful for anxiety, low mood, intrusive thoughts, and the everyday habits that follow a hard season of life.
Predictive Processing Flash
A gentle, low-intensity approach to processing distressing memories.
The Flash Technique is a gentle, low-intensity way to reduce the distress attached to a painful memory. You do not need to describe the memory or dwell on it. Instead, you focus on something positive and engaging while briefly "flashing" toward the memory and back. The approach draws on the idea that the brain is constantly predicting what comes next, and it gives the brain a chance to update its sense that the memory is still dangerous. Many people find it easier than they expect. It can be used on its own or to prepare for deeper work such as EMDR.
Gottman Method Level 1
Research-based couples therapy.
The Gottman Method is based on more than four decades of research by Drs. John and Julie Gottman into what makes relationships succeed or struggle. Level 1 training prepares a therapist to assess a relationship's strengths and areas of concern and to use structured, practical exercises that help couples deepen their friendship, manage conflict without contempt, and build shared meaning. It is a good fit for couples who feel stuck in the same arguments, are rebuilding after a breach of trust, or simply want to strengthen a good relationship.
